Gardening plants can refer to flowers, shrubs, herbs, vegetables, fruits, and anything in-between. When you think of flowers you automatically think of a spring garden full of different and beautiful colors. Spring and summer gardening plants are some of the prettiest on earth and give inspiration to all who grow them and pass by. Some of the most grown spring plants are tulips, daffodils, and violets. Some favorites of the warmer months of summer are lilies, dahlias, and roses.
If you want gardening plants that you can actually use instead of just look at than vegetables, herbs, and fruits are all very satisfying. Edible plants add an excitement to gardening because of the produce available at harvest time. The main vegetables grown in smaller home gardens as well as larger ones include but not limited to corn, peas, cucumbers, potatoes, squash, peppers, onions, carrots, spinach, lettuce, and beets. Popular fruits are pears, plums, blueberries, apricots, cherries, and strawberries. Herbs are used for their wonderful fragrances, to spice up a salad and in cooking. Herbs that are often home-grown include thyme, sage, dill, mint, lavender, and chives.
When gardening, many people will opt for decorative grasses or shrubs. Monkey grass is an all time favorite, especially for a sidewalks. These gardening plants can be for looks, can act as a border or fence, and can be used for privacy. Shrubs are easy to take care of and add a defining look to any yard or garden.
There are so many different kinds of gardening plants available. Many gardening plants actually have a purpose and can be used, since many of them are just for looks. The kind of gardening plant you choose to have in your garden is completely up to you, but remember, no matter what kind it is, it will need some maintenance and without proper care you will end up with a garden full of just dirt. Whatever type of gardening you decide is your goal; there are plenty of gardening plants available to suit your preferences.

Have you been looking for something fun and exciting when you have a day off from work or that weekend you have no plans? Hiking is one of the most popular recreational activities as it is easy to do and is loved by many. Here in the United States, most cities and towns have at least one park with a hiking trail and many have more than one.
What does that mean for you? Whether you are looking to go hiking for a few hours or want to go for a few days, it should be more than possible for you to do so.
Yes, playing a game of basketball or baseball can be fun and exciting, but there isn’t much out there like hiking. Even if you choose to hike the same hiking trail multiple times a year, you will still likely find surprises and changes. That is what is nice about nature; nothing stays the same forever. Every time that you go on a hike, it will seem as if it is a completely new and exciting adventure that can change multiple times a year.
Hiking is a recreational activity that you can do alone or with a group of your friends or even with your family. Most hikers prefer hiking with someone that they know. If you would prefer to hike independently, that is okay, but you may want to take a few extra steps to ensure your safety. These extra steps involve letting someone know where you will be hiking and when you can be expected back, dressing properly, and brining your cell phone with you.
Another reason hiking is such a popular activity is because it is a workout. There are many people who enjoy hiking, well just because, but then there are others who like to go hiking as a form of exercise. Hiking trials are known for their vast array of landscaping. When going hiking, you could walk up steps, climb over small rocks, climb down hilly slopes, and much more. The varied landscape is perfect for workouts, as it really tests your body and its strength. If you are interested in hiking as a part of a routine workout, you may want to check local parks that offer membership plans or discounts to regular hikers.
As stated before, there are some people who like to go hiking just because. Although hiking is referred to as a recreational activity, there are many people who use hiking as a way to relax or escape from their everyday life. That is what is amazing about hiking, this recreational activity can offer you so much, including a fun and exciting time.
If you would like to go hiking, you should give it a try. Sites like trails.com can help you find a trail near you and one that suits your needs and skill level. Also make sure you have all the equipment that you will need, sites like the American Hiking Society can help get you ready.
I have had a few people inquire about how to make your own cables for the Revo surveillance system. While the systems documentation states that you have to buy their “proprietary” cables, being in the network cabling industry for a while now it’s easy for me to look at the RJ-25 and know how to recreate it.
A RJ-25 is a 6 pin/6 conductor connector/plug, the RJ in the name stands for Registered Jack. The most familiar registered jack is probably the RJ11, this is a modular connector wired for one plain old telephone service line (using two wires out of six available positions), and is found in most homes and offices in most countries of the world for single-line telephones. Essentially all one, two, and three line analog telephones made today are meant to plug into RJ11, RJ14, or RJ25 jacks, respectively. Most times no matter what type it is, if it’s a 6 pin connector, no matter how many conductors it’s going to be referred to as an RJ-11,
If we look at the RJ for the Revo system you can see that it’s an 6 pin modular plug with 4 conductors, Black, White, Yellow and Red. On pins 1,2,3 and 5. You always look at the RJ with the pin side up and facing away from you. If you have ever crimped on a RJ modular plug, you might know doing a few of the conductors is a lot harder than doing all of them. Here’s a picture of the RJ from the “proprietary” cables that come with the system.
In order to make your own all you really need is some category cable, I recommend 5e or better, getting in category 6 will make it more difficult as it has a center spline that can get in the way, if you are using a cat 6 with a spline. Pull the spline tight and straight out of the center of the cable and snip it with your snips. It will pull back in the jacket just enough to not give you a hard time with an RJ modular plug.
A few other things you will need is a modular plug 6P6C and a pair of crimpers, a pair of scissors made for cabling will also help. Everything that you need can be bought at Lowe’s for sure, Home Depot may have it as well.
If we look at the pinouts side by side, you can see to recreate the Revo ones we will use all 6 conductors, this will make it easier to get all the conductors in the modular plug and in the right order.
Normally the pinout for any type of 6 pin connector would be a USOC, where pair one starts in the middle (3,4) and works out a pair at a time. Pair one is the blue pair, but since the Revo system splits 3 and 5, it’s best not to use one conductor from a different pair. Instead put the blue pair on pins 1 and 2, orange on 3 and 5, the green pair is just filler to help line up the conductor on pin 5. If you have done a ton of these and can get the conductor in the right slot, go for it and just clip off the brown and green pairs or use them for a second camera connection in case something goes wrong with the primary one.
Getting the cable ready for the connector is pretty simple, if you have category wire strippers, just wring the cable at around 2″ from the end. If you are using a knife or other tool to strip the cable, I recommend using the rip cord so you ensure you do not nick the conductors. Using the rip cord just wring the cable with a knife, bend the jacket to break it and pull it off. Find the rip cord and pull it back down the jacket about another inch or so, bend the jacket away from the conductors and snip them off.
Once you have the jacket stipped off the conductors, remove the rip cord and center spline if you have them. Then find the brown pair and snip it off. Once you are down to the 3 pairs needed, pinch the cable between your index finger and thumb right at where the jacket ends. Holding the conductors tight, split the pairs so that they are lined up in the following order. Blue, White/Blue, Orange, Green, White/Orange, White Green, They will still be a little curvy so to correct that, with the other hand pinch the conductors tight to the fingers on the jacket and wiggle them sideways while pulling them straight away. Might take a few times to get everything nice and straight, once you are happy, double check that the conductors are in the right order.
Next step is to use your scissors or snips to cut the conductors right about .5″ past the jacket, you may have to repeat getting the conductors lined up if you cut them too short, too long or too much at an angle. Once everything is lined up and cut down, slip them into the modular plug, pins up and still pinching the conductors at the jacket. Once the conductors are in the plug, check the very end of the plug, you should see copper on all the slots under the pins, hold the jacket tight and wiggle the plug around till you do. If you can’t get copper on all of them, restart and try again.
Once you have copper on all pins, insert the plug in the crimper, hold the conductors tight in the jacket and push the plug into the crimper hard while crimping the plug. Do that for both ends and you will be good to go.
Use this method to customize the lengths of your cables, save money and time. I don’t care who says they are proprietary, if it’s done with category cable and standardized modules like RJ’s it can be duplicated rather easy.
If you have any other questions or need more info on how to do the RJ’s let me know.
Ask any plain clothes law enforcement officer or daily concealed carry civilian what type of holster they use most often and 9 out of 10 will tell you that they are using an Inside-The-Waistband Holster (IWB Holster) daily. The major advantage of the IWB holster is the lower half of the gun is inherently concealed inside the waistband. This small but significant detail might seem trivial, but ask anyone who has carried a handgun for more than 6 months and they’ll tell you that it’s easier to choose clothing and outerwear that will hide a pistol if only the grip section has to be concealed. Everyone wants a better work out, sometimes doing the same thing over and over isn’t the right way. Before fitness training, remember the importance to doing warm-up or stretching exercises to prevent accidents or to enhance the output during the training. There are also a number of precautionary measures and tips to serve as guidelines when doing fitness exercises.
Many people, particularly those that have certain health problems, start exercising for the sole purpose of losing weight. When the pounds do not drop as quickly or as completely as they would like, they get discouraged and give up. The most important aspect about exercise is that even if you do not lose weight, your investment in exercise is still paying off in reduced heart disease risk and better blood glucose control.
